Job Description
Position:Â Title I teacher
Supervision
The Title I teacher comes under the primary direction and supervision of the Elementary School Principal, but also takes occasional direction and recommendation from the Middle School Principal and the District Superintendent as appropriate.
Observation/Evaluation:Â
The Title I teacher is formally observed and evaluated by both the elementary school principal.
Job Goal
To facilitate and support grade level PLC teams in bringing each identified Title I child to the proficient level in Reading and Math.
Qualifications
Montana Teaching certificate with an Elementary endorsement.
Team Approach
Regular contract year as per Lolo Education Association Agreement

Team Approach
- Lolo School District utilizes a Professional Learning Community (PLC) approach to providing a quality education to students and continually improving its educational program. The Lolo School Mission and Vision Statements are central to our work. To that end, every employee of the district works with a team approach toward maintaining a quality school system. Each instructor is responsible for delivering the appropriate content utilizing research-based best practices; ensuring students have learned the material, and also implementing interventions when students do not learn. It takes a lot of work to successfully operate as a team, but the end result at Lolo School has been successful in creating highly collaborative and positive work relationships, not to mention a tight-knit and enjoyable environment, all of which improve the learning culture and opportunities for students.
- Select students for the program as outlined in the state Title I guidelines
- Diagnose student strengths and weaknesses
- Prescribe program and write objectives for each student
- Insure parental input in program development
- Implement program
- Maintain accurate records for each identified child
- Assess student progress on a regular basis
- Complete reports required for Title I programs as requested by supervisor
- Keep equipment and instructional material inventory
- Attend staff meetings and in-service training
- Assume an active role and work cooperatively with parents and teachers in meeting the Parent Involvement Guidelines from Title I
- Assist with the recruiting and training of volunteers where appropriate
- Train volunteers and carry out recognition activities as appropriate
- Coordinate Title I aides as may be appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Adheres to, supports and strives to attain the school district policies, procedures, mission and visions, and the school’s professional learning community approach to successful education
- Interacts with students in a constructive manner to encourage individuals to perform at their highest levels
- Participates in curriculum update and review, textbook/materials selection, and relevant consortium meetings
- Participates in district-wide activities, in-services, and committees as appropriate
- Maintains current educational certificate requirements.
- Acquires First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Serves as an ethical, loyal and dedicated member of the Lolo School team and overall district.
- Serves as a reliable and professional representative of Lolo School District at all times.
- Willingness to be flexible in assignments – though initially hired for a particular position, Lolo SD has the discretion to adjust teacher assignments.
- Must at least annually review the employee workplace safety manual and be familiar with its content and apply such appropriate practices and other supervisor-instructed work place safety practices while employed at Lolo School District.Â
- Must at least annually review the (red) emergency procedures manual and be able to properly participate and, when needed, assist with emergency evacuation/response drills and other emergency response incidents.
- Such other duties as may be assigned by the building principals or district superintendent
