Duties and Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Working to build relationships with prospective students, high school counselors, teachers, and others on an information-sharing basis
- Maintaining current knowledge of university academic programs and admissions standards
- Traveling extensively (approximately 25 weeks out of the year) from August through May; travel includes in-state and out-of-state destinations
- Providing campus tours to prospective students and their families as well as assisting prospective students through the application and admission process
- Processing official documents as needed
- Entering data
- Using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for student contact management and communication
- Assisting with on-campus programs including representing MSU-Northern at university and community events.
In addition, this position
- Uses Banner for data processing
- Works with other institutional departments to keep current about academic program information, departmental policies and procedures, and student activities
- Works with institutional committees
- Performs other duties to support the mission and goals of the institution
- Bachelor’s degree, OR
- Associate’s degree with work experience that demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Current and valid Montana driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within a month of hire
1. Experience working with students on campus or with other organizations
2. Knowledge or experience using Banner or similar database
3. Knowledge or experience using Anthology Reach or a similar CRM
4. Experience planning and coordinating projects and events
5. Demonstrated excellent communications skills
6. Sales experience

- Have the ability and willingness to work extended hours including some evenings and weekends (Travel is required for this position which can occasionally be extensive)

- Represent the department and the university in a professional manner at college fairs, high school visits, community events, and other recruitment activities
- Demonstrate effective time management skill and ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs
