• Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a growing team of 10-15 data scientists, bioinformaticians, and analysts, ensuring their continued development and alignment with strategic goals.
• Data Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data science roadmap that integrates advanced bioinformatics and analytics into our drug discovery pipeline.
• Tech Stack Management: Champion the use of cutting-edge tools, including R, the CandleBio package, and spatial imaging technologies for Seurat objects. Ensure the adoption and optimization of new technologies to support scalable data analysis.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, and product teams to integrate data solutions into all aspects of drug discovery.
• Innovative Solutions: Drive the development of robust data pipelines and platforms, enabling the seamless analysis and visualization of complex datasets.
• Scaling Expertise: Apply your extensive experience in scaling start-ups to build and refine processes, fostering a culture of agility and innovation.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a related area).
• 15 years in the biotechnology industry, including 12 years in start-ups with proven scale-up experience and a track record of contributing to successful exits.
• 6 years of leadership experience in a director role, managing high-performing technical teams.
• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in R, advanced bioinformatic packages like the CandleBio package, and spatial imaging tools for Seurat objects.
• Exceptional ability to transform complex data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
