The Collections Manager oversees the collections process to ensure timely and efficient recovery of outstanding accounts receivable for Monte Nido. This role manages a team of collections specialists, collaborates with internal departments and external payors, and implements strategies to optimize cash flow while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities Include:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor collections staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Monitor team performance and establish metrics for efficiency and effectiveness.

Collections Oversight:

  • Oversee all aspects of the collections process, including payor follow-ups, appeals, and patient payment plans.
  • Review and prioritize aging accounts to minimize outstanding receivables and improve cash collections.
  • Resolve complex billing and payment issues, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external payors.

Payor and Patient Coordination:

  • Collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and guarantors to resolve disputes and secure payments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding collections and billing practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Analyze collections data to identify trends and implement strategies for process improvements.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures to optimize collections workflows.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on collections performance, key metrics, and outstanding balances to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements in all collections activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare collections, revenue cycle management, or a related field.
  • Previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in healthcare billing systems, insurance verification, and denial management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with behavioral health or eating disorder treatment services.
  • Knowledge of Monte Nido’s programs and payor landscape.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management software.
