The Infection Control Nurse is an investigator, instructor and consultant with five major infection control
Functions
- Surveillance
- Data analysis and interpretation, summary reporting
- Development of preventive and control measures
- Consultation/education, and
- Liaison with outside agencies
- Professional Registered Nurse license and current registration to practice in New York State.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field and a minimum of 2 consecutive years of recent acute
- Infection Control, hospital epidemiology or related experience required.
- Masters degree and Infection control certification preferred at time of employment. Certification in area of specialty to be obtained in a reasonable period of time and maintained during employment.
- Documented commitment to continuing professional development
