SENIOR APPLICATION ANALYST MIT Job Details | Montefiore Medical Center

• Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings

• Provide go-live and rollout support

• Interface with users/clients across the Montefiore Health System. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality

• Mentor and guide Application Analysts

• Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associates or the vendor to coordinate the modification

• Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
o Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements
o Interpret end user requirements, by fully discussing potential options, and help client move towards optimal solution
o Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system
o Create system specifications from user requirements

• Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications. Document all outcomes of testing

• Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support

• Participate in technical integration and interface build

• Write and maintain accurate and current documentation Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users

• Provide day-to-day operational support, advanced application troubleshooting support, coordinate modifications and updates, recommend improvements & increase efficiencies and provide pro-active monitoring

• Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis

• On an as-needed basis, provide on-site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its’ affiliates (on-site, rotational support)

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Medical Technologist, Health Informatics, or a related field. Experience will be considered in place of a degree

• 5 years of related clinical or business experience

• Experience with LIS and/or the pathology industry, including clinical laboratories, microbiology, surgical pathology, cytology, and Blood Bank. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with significant lab experience and a demonstrated aptitude for IT.

• Strong technical skills including Windows, Excel

• Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience

• Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

• Technical understand of hardware, networking and servers

• Knowledge of Data Innovations

• Critical thinking skills

• Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.

• Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities

• MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR EPIC CERTIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Desired:

• EPIC Beaker CP and AP certification

• Instrument interface knowledge

• Experience with Point of care middleware applications such as Telcor, QML. NovaNet, RALS and UniPOC data management system

• Prior experience with Data Innovations (DI) configuration setup and rules writing.

• Understanding of HL7 and other health related standards

• MT, PA or clinical experience is a plus

• Montefiore requires immunizations including for COVID-19 and flu
