SENIOR APPLICATION ANALYST MIT

We are seeking an EPIC Beaker Senior Application Analyst to join our LIS team.
Responsibilities include:
* Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings
* Provide go-live and rollout support
* Interface with users/clients across the Montefiore Health System. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality
* Mentor and guide Application Analysts
* Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associates or the vendor to coordinate the modification
* Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
o Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements
o Interpret end user requirements, by fully discussing potential options, and help client move towards optimal solution
o Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system
o Create system specifications from user requirements
* Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications. Document all outcomes of testing
* Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support
* Participate in technical integration and interface build
* Write and maintain accurate and current documentation Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users
* Provide day-to-day operational support, advanced application troubleshooting support, coordinate modifications and updates, recommend improvements & increase efficiencies and provide pro-active monitoring
* Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis
* On an as-needed basis, provide on-site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its' affiliates (on-site, rotational support)

Required:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Medical Technologist, Health Informatics, or a related field. Experience will be considered in place of a degree
* 5 years of related clinical or business experience
* Experience with LIS and/or the pathology industry, including clinical laboratories, microbiology, surgical pathology, cytology, and Blood Bank. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with significant lab experience and a demonstrated aptitude for IT.
* Strong technical skills including Windows, Excel
* Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
* Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
* Technical understand of hardware, networking and servers
* Knowledge of Data Innovations
* Critical thinking skills
* Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
* Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities
* MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR EPIC CERTIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Desired:
* EPIC Beaker CP and AP certification
* Instrument interface knowledge
* Experience with Point of care middleware applications such as Telcor, QML. NovaNet, RALS and UniPOC data management system
* Prior experience with Data Innovations (DI) configuration setup and rules writing.
* Understanding of HL7 and other health related standards
* MT, PA or clinical experience is a plus
