What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE position at Montefiore Medical Center?
The Patient Service Representative performs a variety of clerical functions to insure the efficient operation of the Orthopedic Surgery patient practice. Serves as a liaison between the patient, the physician, and ancillary and diagnostic services. Schedules appointments, secures authorization and coordinates referrals to specialists and diagnostic services. Verifies insurance coverage status and collects and records payment utilizing automated systems. Performs related work as required.
The hours for this positions is 9:30am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 10am to 6:30pm on Thursdays. The associate will be required to travel to all Orthopaedic locations to cover due to emergencies,vacations and sick calls 1250 Waters Place Bronx, NY 4141 Carpenter Avenue Bronx, NY 3400 Bainbridge Avenue Bronx, NY Overtime is required and weekends included. This is a floating position.

HS Diploma/GED required
Bachelors Degree Preferred
1 year experience
