This facility is part of the Montefiore Health System, a premier academic health system serving more than 3 million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley. Position Summary:
Under supervision peer counselors provide direct services to substance use and mental health consumers. This position is based in the outpatient substance use treatment program. The peer works in close collaboration with staff, consumers and other caregivers in planning and implementing treatment plans. Empowers peers to advocate for themselves, resolve issues or problem and plan for their future by serving as role model.
Requirements:
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Hospital experience/or outpatient clinic setting as a peer
- Counselor preferred
- CRPA Certification required
