Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Salary Range: $69,000-$85,000/Annually

The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and preparing key financial statements. The GL Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, performing month-end and year-end closing activities, and providing essential information for audits and management reporting.
What Do We Expect?
General Ledger Maintenance
- Post journal entries, adjustments, and other financial transactions to the general ledger.
- Ensure proper classification and coding of transactions.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement).
- Analyze and report variances between actuals and forecasts.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Account Reconciliation
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
Audit Preparation
- Provide documentation and support for external audits.
- Ensure all required schedules and reconciliations are completed accurately for audit purposes.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and controls.
Collaboration
- Work closely and review departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Communicate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other relevant parties.
Other Duties
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting or related roles
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (JDE, SAP, Oracle)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
