A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
As a medical assistant for our private practice, you play a critical role in helping our customers by ensuring they receive the care they need. You escort patients to their rooms in a timely manner after check-in. To prepare patients for their evaluations, you measure their vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, height, and weight, and record this information in their charts. You assist the provider with the evaluation and treatment as well as attend to patient wounds, including the application of dressing, splints, and bracing.
To keep the practice running efficiently, you assist with the flow of patients by preparing examination rooms for new patients and discharging patients once evaluations are complete. You perform follow-ups and help schedule surgeries as well as authorize outgoing diagnostics in a timely manner. By following established safety procedures, you ensure equipment and materials are always used in an acceptable manner. In addition, you maintain inventory to ensure our medical supplies are well-stocked and any outdated medications are discarded. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred, but not required
- 1 years of related experience OR combination of education and experience
- CPR certification - in house certification available as needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Knowledge about electronic medical records
- Knowledge about Microsoft Office including Outlook

WORK SCHEDULE
Physician Clinic MA
This full-time medical assistant position typically works a varied schedule between the hours of 7:30AM and 5:00PM, Monday-Friday. Your schedule will be determined based on the provider you are assigned to.
Urgent Care MA
This full-time position typically works 10 hour days, on a rotating schedule between the hours of 9:00-8:00pm Monday-Friday; and 10:00-6:00 on the weekends. Shift differential is applied for evening and weekend hours.
