The Montesano Psychological Center is a growing group private practice located in Lake County, Illinois, dedicated to providing members of the community with accessible mental health support. As part of our initiative to provide affordable mental health services to those in need, we provide reduce fee sessions and accept Medicaid through BCBS Community. What sets MPC apart from other small practices in the area is that we are committed to bringing collaborative care to rural community members as well as minorities via confidential and HIPAA-compliant services, such as virtual individual psychotherapy, groups, family and couples therapy, along with bilingual services in Spanish and Hindi. Currently, we are looking to hire a fully virtual clinician. All clinicians working remotely from home must have a private home office.

Job responsibilities include :

  • Maintaining a caseload of 20 clients per week
  • Evening availability at least two nights per week (4 pm-8 pm)
  • Maintaining up-to-date treatment plans. Treatment plans are updated every 3 months
  • Providing accurate diagnoses and outlining medical necessity in all clients’ treatment plans and clinical notes.
  • Conducting ongoing assessments towards recordkeeping of patient progress
  • Completing and signing progress notes within 24 hours of seeing the client
  • Adhering to the ethical guidelines of your licensure board.
  • Referring clients to outside agencies or references when necessary
  • Keeping client consents updated on a yearly basis
  • Consulting with clinical staff when necessary

Therapist Requirements / Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and other staff members
  • Detail-oriented, excellent time-management, and flexibility is a necessity
  • As a fully remote position, an optimal candidate would be expected to maintain their own Wi-Fi connection, private therapy space and personal computer with video / camera access
  • The candidate must hold valid clinical licensure in either Illinois and / or Wisconsin
  • Candidate should be able to provide supervision, offer semi-flexible availability for clients’ schedules, and maintain their own malpractice insurance.
  • Bilingualism is an asset but not a requirement

    • Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Psychology from an accredited institution or LPC, LCPC, LCSW in the state of IL or WI.
  • Valid state licensure to practice psychology or counseling.
  • Strong skills in psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluation, and patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and continuous improvement in clinical skills.

  • The practice coordinates billing, credentialing, and intake scheduling so you don’t have to.

  • Consultation and mentoring sessions with a licensed clinician as needed.
  • LPC’s receive 1 hour a week of individual supervision with Dr. Montesano or another fully licensed supervisor.
  • Didactic training on a monthly basis.
  • Clinician is paid per session completed, once monthly. Rate varies based on license type and experience.
  • Practice will reimburse clinicians for board / application fees for clinicians who choose to get licensed in Wisconsin in addition to holding an IL license.
