Top candidates are able to create community amongst their students and communicate with families about ways that they can continue the learning journey at home
Duties
◊Observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing children while they learn in the classroom environment.
◊Developing lesson plans, shelf works, independent learning exercises, curricula, and methods that cater to the needs of the individual child.
◊Commitment to learning and applying the Montessori approach for learning.
◊Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
◊Establishing rapport and building relationships with students based on trust.
◊Establishing partnerships with parents with a foundation of good, consistent communication.
◊Supporting and guiding students on their toilet training journey
◊Monitoring and assessing student progress, recording their learning journey.
◊Ensuring classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.
◊Updating student records using our primary record keeping platform, Brightwheel.
◊Participating in school activities and accompanying students on field trips as scheduled
◊Participating in orientation and welcoming of new team members.
Requirements
◊Associates Degree in related field or higher. Will also accept A CDA.
◊Ability to complete Montessori Certification within 2 years of employment.
◊20 hours of training each year to satisfy state requirements.
◊An ability to teach groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
◊Ability to spend 100% of work time standing or moving about classrooms.
◊Physical activities include bending stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and or reaching on a frequent basis.
◊Patience
