About the Role:

Calaveras Montessori, a private boutique preschool located on the Milpitas Unified School District campus, is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Lead Administrator to join our team as the Assistant Head of School.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of School to oversee the daily operations of our school and ensure a positive, enriching experience for all members of our community—children, parents, and staff alike. You will be responsible for helping run the school smoothly, from managing family onboarding and billing, to ensuring effective classroom operations, and handling inventory and supplies.

The variety of tasks you'll be involved in is broad. You might be supporting the classroom team, ensuring smooth ratios, or helping with daily tasks such as loading the dishwasher or managing classroom laundry. This position is designed to share critical responsibilities with the Head of School, and requires a hands-on approach and a "whatever it takes" mentality.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure smooth operations and effective management of the school.
• Lead by example in fostering a supportive environment for children, parents, and staff.
• Support the daily logistics of the school, including student ratios, snack and supply inventory, and overall classroom functions.
• Assist with onboarding new families and ensuring they are billed correctly.
• Maintain the school's strong community by helping where needed, from administrative tasks to classroom support.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a preschool or other academic setting is preferred.
• Montessori experience or credentials are a big plus.
  • If you don't have Montessori experience, you must be willing to adopt the Montessori philosophy and participate in training for Montessori fundamentals and administrative practices.
• Demonstrated experience with computers and mobile devices (both PC and mobile).
