We are a thriving multi-doctor practice in the Kenwood area that treats dogs, cats, and exotic pets (no exotics experience necessary!). We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding team! Are you looking to develop new skills? We will support you! Our hospital has been AAHA accredited since 1950 and our amazing RVTs and veterinary assistants are instrumental in providing the high standards of care that generations of clients have come to expect and receive from us. Compensation is based on experience and ranges $11-16/hour depending on experience level. Applicants must be available to work afternoon/closing shifts.

Examples of Job Duties:
- Assist doctors and technicians in restraint and treatment of patient.
- Perform occasional assistant-led appointments completing toenail trims, laser therapy, subcutaneous injections, routine anal gland expression, and basic lab work.
- Monitor animals in the hospital and assist with routine procedures.
- Record hourly observations of patients and chart status of their wellbeing.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient- and owner-facing areas of hospital.
- Feed and exercise of hospitalized patients as directed.
- Receive patients being hospitalized and undergoing procedures in reception area of hospital.
- Assist in monitoring and recovering anesthetized patients.
- Clean and sterilize surgery areas and instruments.
- Assist in proper positioning of patient while obtaining radiographs.
- Monitor and support non-hospital personnel (visitors, workmen, delivery people) while they are in the hospital.
- Maintain inventory of medical and non-medical supplies and equipment used in treatment, kennel, and laundry rooms.
- Bathe and groom animals as directed.
- Participate in scribing for a variety of different appointments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
