Job Description
Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, has an immediate need for a Full-time, Data Coordinator in the Business, Information Technology, Transportation, and Public Safety department. The work schedule is Monday – Friday; 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. This is a Non-Bargaining Status, Exempt, Grade 27 position. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, belonging, and inclusiveness. This position is currently eligible for telework {1} day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
This is a temporary position with benefits funded through June 30, 2026. Employment continuation beyond this period is contingent upon need and funding.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide oversight for a program’s data collection, management, and analysis process, create and implement the program Data Quality Plan, design and analyze collection systems, define trends in data to be used in program design.
- Hire and supervise staff, assign and monitor work, coach, train and develop staff.
- Develop spreadsheets, reports and presentations providing formative and summative data. Plan and complete assignments according to established standards.
- Design program data collection forms following guidelines from the Maryland US Department of Labor (funding agency).
- Develop and enforce data management policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with departments, funding agency and other State funded programs to ensure data systems meet user needs and support decision-making processes.
- Analyze data to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and provide actionable insights for continuous program improvement and informed decision-making.
- Enter and extract data and prepare reports. Organize and assemble required data and registration forms for classes throughout the academic year.
- Review and reconcile incoming data.
- Contact instructors and students for missing information.
- Create/run queries and reports to monitor program progress status, including student enrollment levels and demographic comparisons.
- Analyze program data in relationship to local, state, and federal trends.
- Maintain accurate student data.
- Research national and state program data trend developments to provide recommendations for improvements.
- Assist with the design and implementation of training activities.
- May coordinate the daily tasks for staff assigned to the program.
- Collect instructor attendance information through the fiscal year.
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly grant report.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Two years' experience in database management and/or using databases to produce reports for data-driven decisions.
- 1-2 years of experience supervising staff or leading project teams.
- Knowledge of educational programming and assessment systems.
- Expertise in data analysis techniques, student data interpretation, and database management, including local and state databases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff and manage team performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow and convey instructions clearly. Capable of working independently and collaboratively across academic and IT teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the flexibility to handle complex issues.
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in another language strongly preferred.
- Experience with building dashboards in PowerBI.
- Experience with grant reporting guidelines.
- Experience with US DOL Workforce Integrated Performance System (WIPS).
- Data or PowerBI certification.
Hiring Range: $63,375 to $82,376/annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $101,377/annually
