Hospitality Institute Program Coordinator
Full-time Administrator (Level 14)
Hourly Range: $27.00 - $30.00 (Hourly rate is commensurate with experience)

Basic Purpose:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing a range of services to enhance the efficiency and administration of the daily operation of the Hospitality Institute. Reports to the Director of the Hospitality Institute. This key position will coordinate all the non-credit offerings including summer camps, teambuilding, etc. This role will attend area school recruitment events and assist the director with daily administrative tasks. A Program Coordinator is a multifaceted role that involves overseeing various aspects of program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
This role works with professional staff, faculty, and students at the Hospitality Institute.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with the Director of the Hospitality Institute, plan and implement all non-credit programming including courses, corporate team building, culinary enthusiast workshops, master classes, and summer camps
- Execute all administrative responsibilities required for non-credit experiences including room reservations, updating ACT 335’s, submitting web requests and updates to marketing for community classes, and coordinating instructional supplies with instructors and procurement.
- Serves as the initial point of contact for prospective Institute students and families and applicants by email or phone
- Serves as the initial point of contact to Hire, Train & Coordinate work study students assisting with outreach activities such as open houses, new student orientation, high school demos
- Provide consistent, accurate and timely information about the Hospitality Institute and its programs by responding to emails and phone calls in an appropriate and timely manner
- Coordinate social media content, website updates, and liaise with Marketing and Communications to share special interest stories, etc. to maintain a current online presence
- Support all Hospitality Institute student experiences including new student orientation, Internships, externships, apprenticeships, Fellowships, and Work Study
- In collaboration with HI Staff, Admissions, and Educational Partnerships, coordinate comprehensive outreach and recruitment strategy to increase awareness of the Hospitality Institute within the community and county technical programs in Montgomery County including high school fairs, letter/email campaigns, special and immersive events, Open Houses, Information Sessions, and Student Support programming like Gateway to College and Upward Bound
- In collaboration with HI staff and faculty, maintain internal and external calendar
- Create instructional materials and program brochures and checklists for non-credit programming
- Collaborate with other departments such as Enrollment Services, Student Affairs, Career and Alumni Engagement, Workforce Development and Finance and Administration to accomplish goals and assigned task
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education/Training/Work Experience
- 2-3 years of Professional experience as an educator
- Bachelor’s degree required – preferred in the culinary, restaurant, food service, or hospitality industry
- Position requires morning, evening, and weekend availability to attend special events internally and externally.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and drive to & from destinations
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of technologies, including data management systems, learning management systems, and MS Office suite
