WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers program is looking for an experienced professional to lead our medical outreach initiative.

What You'll Be Doing

This position sits in Early Childhood Services (ECS) in the Department of Health and Human Services and will serve as Medical Outreach Coordinator within ECS and liaison to other health programs and will provide MCITP outreach to Montgomery County's pediatricians as well as the general community. Candidate will have knowledge of child development and the importance of early screening. Candidate will work with pediatrician’s and pediatric office staff and should have experience conducting community outreach events.

  • Pediatric Outreach-establish and maintain relationships with Montgomery County pediatricians in order to promote awareness of the Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers Program
  • Lead Community Outreach-set up and maintain tables at community events to promote awareness, interact with members of the public and distribute written information and network with other health related initiative and providers.
  • Attend local and/or state meetings and actively participate in work groups.
  • Conduct Data Collections-generate reports to track progress and use reports for future strategic planning. analyze data to evaluate processes and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Family Support Network as well as other agencies
  • -consult with a variety of individuals, groups and committees on program planning and coordination, function in a liaison capacity between the department/agency in which assigned and other departments, agencies and private concerns.
  • Candidates with bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Amharic, or Chinese in order to hold oral conversations with medical personnel and key stakeholders in the community.
  • Will also translate written materials and present at community events.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation as candidate will be traveling throughout Montgomery County conducting outreach.
The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in Early Childhood Services building relationships with community partners and conducting medical outreach.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

License: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence.

Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Field
  • Two years of experience in building relationships with community partners and conducting outreach
  • Experience in providing training and consultation
  • Excellent administrative skills
