What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Manager position at Montgomery County SPCA?
Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Managers primary purpose is ensuring proper upkeep of the shelter facilities, vehicles and grounds. They are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and safety of the MCSPCA’s three animal shelter facilities and fleet of MCSPCA vehicles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be aware of the needs of the sites on all levels of activity and keep efficiency and safety in mind.
- Respond to work requests daily.
- Perform or schedule maintenance on the mechanical, electrical and building systems in regard to preventative maintenance.
- Operate and maintain all MCSPCA vehicles in accordance with Department of Transportation and organizational guidelines, as required to keep them working efficiently and safely.
- Take on and lead projects as requested or assigned. Including, but not limited to general carpentry, equipment repairs, and painting.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with special events as requested or assigned.
- Assist with extra projects as requested or assigned.
- Promote integration and utilization of volunteers; train volunteers to assist department.
Qualifications/Expectations:
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Montgomery County SPCA for helping animals and people in our community.
- Required: Valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and a good driving record.
- Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Required: Have a basic understanding of equipment and how to repair and keep in good working order a variety of items that may include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, and reliable
***Minimum of three (3) years of full-time related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience working in a maintenance-related capacity with experience working with heating, air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or related building trades.
Location: Based at our Conshohocken shelter, with travel to our Perkiomenville and Abington locations on a regular basis.
Salary: $22 per hour., dependent upon experience
