Summary
As a Swimming Coach at Montgomery Swim Academy, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in the art of swimming. This role is essential in fostering a love for the sport while ensuring safety and skill development among participants.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging swim lesson plans tailored to various skill levels.
- Provide one-on-one or group instruction while ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain a positive atmosphere during lessons.
- Encourage students to develop their swimming skills through motivation and support.
- Collaborate with other coaches to promote team events and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the swim area before, during, and after lessons.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in swimming instruction.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent behavior management skills to effectively engage students.
- Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels is preferred.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, or Lifeguarding are a plus but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents alike.
Hours:
Swim team practices are as follows:
September - May : Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45pm-9pm (occasionally swim meets on Saturdays, hours vary from 11am-4pm, usually lasting 2-3 hours)
May - June: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:45pm-8:45pm (occasionally swim meets on Saturdays, hours vary from 11am-4pm, usually lasting 2-3 hours)
July-early Aug: Mondays and Wednesdays 3:45pm-7:15pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:45am-11:30am. Swim meets on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, 2-3 hours each

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.5 – 11 per week
