POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing weekly payroll accurately and timely. This position works to identify and resolve payroll related issues, provides support, and answers pay related questions while maintaining a high level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process and ensure new hire packets are complete and accurate.
• Enter information to payroll system from input documentation, verify accuracy of payroll data entered by comparing against input documents, correct errors prior to submission of payment cycle.
• Follow up with payroll data sources to ensure required information is received in a timely manner and to resolve any discrepancies in the information provided.
• Interpret and process employee garnishments; assist with garnishment agency and employee inquiries.
• Review and reconcile payroll fees and other deductions such as health benefits, garnishments, loyalty pay, etc.
• Process stop payments and direct deposit reversals.
• Assist employees with PTO balance request.
• Assist payroll manager with internal audit requirements.
• Answer payroll inquiries, resolves payroll issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Record documentation for terminated employees.
• Conduct payroll presentation at weekly new hire orientation.
• Distribute end of year W-2’s.
• Provide teamwork/support to other departments for all payroll functions.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll related items.
• Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
• High school diploma. Degree and/or certification in an Accounting/Finance/Business discipline preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Detail oriented, with ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office product suite.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
