Role Description
The Montshire Museum of Science is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Philanthropy to join its senior management team. This key role will be responsible for developing and implementing donor strategies, managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, and securing major gifts to support the museum's mission.
Main Responsibilities:
• Identify and qualify potential donors
• Conduct research on donors and develop cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
• Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals
• Develop and track solicitation assignments
• Coordinate donor visits and events
• Write proposals and create campaign documents
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and CFRE preferred
• 5 years of individual giving experience with a strong background in major gifts fundraising
• Skilled in donor engagement, prospecting, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Experience writing fundraising proposals and building philanthropic relationships
• Excellent computer skills and fluency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media
