Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team. Manage calibrated assets, proactively monitoring calibration due dates, turning in assets for calibration on time, and updating asset status in the site’s online calibration system. Conduct investigations and documentation as needed for Out of Tolerance Notifications, Defects and/or Overdue Calibrations, and setting up new assets as well as retiring old assets as needed. Support installed base engineering investigations with modification of CT gantries, installation of components, or creation of test setups.Fabricate prototype parts and or test fixturing in the mechanical lab
Support lab organization including tool organization, tidiness, and acting as a champion of safety and EHS initiatives.Assist with set up of functional and reliability tests for prototype components.Document test results and review with mechanical engineers.Work with mechanical engineers to provide feedback on designs and DFM
Duties
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and observations using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Prepare samples for analysis, including histology and microbiology specimens.
- Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines and adhere to FDA regulations to ensure quality control.
- Assist in the development of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to support ongoing scientific research projects.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies.
Skills
- Experience in an industrial or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with mechanical lab tools: waterjet, CNC and manual mill, lathe, sheet metal brake, mechanical hand tools
- Experience with calibration management and working in a regulated industry
Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, STM32, Embedded C
- Ability to read and understand part and assembly drawings; proficiency with interpreting GD&T
Strong knowledge of microbiology principles and practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Proficient in standard laboratory procedures and techniques, including histology.
- Understanding of scientific research methodologies and compliance with GLP standards.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to laboratory operations.
- Ability to understand veterinary terminology is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
