Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, along with experience in system design and firmware development. The Electrical Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet project requirements.
Duties
- Design and develop electrical systems, including circuit design and layout.
- Collaborate with engineers to create system designs that incorporate FPGA and logic controllers.
- Design electrical and/or power electronics circuitry for Premium CT Hardware either on NPI products or maintenance of installed base.
- Drives and is accountable for operational excellence of assigned designs, projects and rigor, with duties including design, project reviews, feasibility analysis, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, resourcing, initiation, execution and closure
- Drive the development of prototypes, performance testing and design documentation
- Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system
- Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, STM32, Embedded C
- Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system
- Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
- Develop firmware for embedded systems, ensuring functionality aligns with design specifications.
- Utilize surface mount technology in the development of electronic components.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve design issues effectively.
- Ensure designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant standards.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation including specifications, schematics, and reports.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in system design and electrical engineering roles.
- BS in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of industry electrical engineering experience.
- 5 years of industry experience in circuit design.
- Knowledge of standard schematic practices, product structuring, electronics modeling, and engineering analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of integrated circuit design, control system design, programming, simulation & test
- Desired Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of industry electrical engineering experience.

- Knowledge of integrated circuit design, control system design, programming, simulation & test
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute projects/programs.
- Ability to multi-task, both on projects within the electrical team and within the greater hardware team.
