Consumer Lending Assistant/Processor - JOB #19-25
The Centralized Consumer Lending Assistant will provide support for the Consumer Lending Team, in addition to processing and handling of functions related to loan activities. Performs a broad variety of loan service functions from loan applications through loan closing. Verify all needed documentation is in place prior to closing. Answer customer’s questions regarding loans and demand deposit-related matters. Service customers and loan sales staff promptly and professionally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate loan documentation including UCC and title searches with various parties including Loan Operations, Quality Control, Title Companies, Attorneys’, and Credit Department.
- Coordinate loan uploading/funding with Loan Operations and review final processing for correctness.
- Assist and support Loan Underwriters, including both Consumers, Mortgage and Construction loans.
- Provide appropriate assistance to customers both in person and over the phone, i.e. wire transfers, research, account transfers, and loan signing.
- Prepare loan advances and loan pay down request.
- Prepare loan authorizations and packages, including obtaining Credit Reports, New Loan Numbers, Financials, CIP, Corporate Documents, and other related items as needed.
- Complete Quality Checks of loan packages to ensure all necessary documents are included and complete.
- General Administrative duties – i.e. typing correspondence, including past due letters, commitment letters, waivers, and memos, answer phones, open and distribute mail, and scheduling appointments.
- Assist in review of Exception Reports and work to clear on a weekly basis.
- Assist in review past due report and assist in collection process.
- Provide assistance to Mortgage Underwriters as needed.
- Carry out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the Bank’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Enter applications into DecisionPro when needed and print and send disclosures from LasePro.
- Become proficient on CSM, LaserPro and DecisionPro LOS systems, including imputing information onto these systems.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience. Related secretrial and college level business courses preferred.
- 2-3 years Consumer Loan Processing experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated proficiency in consumer loan documentation.
- Bank Loan Policy, and Government Regulations, and lending and collection laws.
- Knowledge of Bank’s products/services.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a specified timeframe.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent follow-up.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
