The Assistant Residential Manager will be responsible for the distribution/supervision of duties assigned to the residential staff. These duties will include overseeing and monitoring the documentation of patient behavior, acting as a role model for residents, patients, and residential staff and providing supervision of Therapeutic Assistants and residents. In addition, the Assistant Residential Manager will ensure that the residential staff's consistently exercise safe implementation of individual treatment plans, monitor residential documentation, and assure that proper communication is maintained. The Assistant Residential Manager will uphold the mission, philosophy, purpose, and goals of the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and patient data and information in the performance of assigned duties and upholding Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute policies.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
- Assist in the development of residential staff schedules to provide 24 hour coverage.
- Manages a float pool of PRN Therapeutic Assistant staff.
- Provide supervision and guidance to residential staff.
- Assists with identifying tasks to be performed on each shift to ensure smooth operations of the Therapeutic Assistant team.
- Assist the Residential Manager in providing in services for residential staff.
- Assist the Residential Manager in providing department orientation for new residential staff.
- Assist the Residential Manager in providing orientation for new residents.
- Direct and/or assist in emergency procedures such as fire, evacuation, or medical emergency.
- Document and report all significant incidents to the Residential Manager as per current Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute policy.
- Assist with ensuring a root cause analysis is performed on every significant event.
- Guide and assist patients in accordance to the individual treatment plan, ensure residential staff are following the service plan as well as any updates.
- Perform duties of a Therapeutic Assistant when necessary due to scheduling conflicts or shortness of staff.
- Respond to and manage concerns of the staff, residents, and families. Escalate issues to Residential Manager as appropriate.
- Assist with shift change reports to ensure effective communication among the team.
- Monitor documentation records to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Hold current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Ability to communicate accurate and pertinent information through documentation.
- Ability to execute emergency procedures.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
- Ability to assist client with transfer in a wheelchair.
- Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
- Current/valid Driver’s license.
Education:
- High-School Diploma or equivalent. College background preferred. CNA or CMA preferred.
Experience:
- Prefer at least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Program, Assisted Living Facility, or 1-2 years' experience with disabled population, dealing with cognitive problems or 30- 60 hours of college will be substituted for experience.
