Your job is to train a community of confident, creative communicators fluent in the language of music. Your students will grow into lifelong musicians who join or start their own bands, write original songs, record and share their magic, and ultimately inspire others to join them in the mission to bring people closer together.

Moon Magnet Music School is hiring qualified part-time instructors that teach Voice, Piano, and music production (plus points if you teach other instruments too!). DAWs we are hiring for are Logic, Ableton, and Garageband. Being able to teach Ableton is required. It's rare that students want to learn FL Studio, Studio One, or Pro Tools, however if you know those programs then that is a plus.
Moon Magnet Music School is looking for teachers with experience in private settings, availability during after-school hours 3-8pm, and a fun, vibrant, welcoming personality that will add to our talented team. We are looking for teachers that are detail-oriented and very punctual.
A college degree in music is NOT required. Many of the best teachers are performers who have 10 years of experience, are great with children and have an outgoing personality.

Pay
Driving to lessons in students homes pays $40-$50 per hour
Remote lessons over zoom pays $28 per hour (but most of our students are in person).
All of our teachers receive about 2 hours of training and monthly 30min check-ins. Training & check-ins pay $20/hr.
What we do...
● Moon Magnet has been proudly serving the Denver metro area since 2013. Our teachers educate children and adults. 80% of our students are ages 6-14 and 20% are adults.
● Over the past 2 years, we have worked with over 70 students across 6 states in the U.S. as well as Amsterdam. Our teachers have taught a variety of instruments as well as songwriting, recording, mixing, mastering, and music marketing (but none of these skills are required).
Who we are looking for...
● Available to teach 2-4 days a week during peak lesson times (3-8pm) during the week or Saturdays or Sundays.
● Comfortable teaching all ages of students.
● Ability to teach in most styles and to at least a mid/intermediate level.
● Ability to understand and teach relevant music theory.
● Ability to teach at an advanced level and/or teach multiple instruments is a plus.
● You are open to feedback and improving your teaching style.
● You will receive training to improve your music lessons where you are paid for your time.
● You listen to student's goals and email them smaller steps to reach their goal after every weekly lesson.
● You find joy in each of your students’ journeys and successes.
● You are 100% committed to the growth of your students.
● You are an excellent and consistent communicator.
● Do you love working with kids? You have to love teaching kids. Many of our students are ages 5-12.
● You must have a reliable vehicle for transportation to lessons.
● You must provide proof of vaccination.

Job Description
Below is an overview of the Music Instructor position:
● Basic writing skills
● Marking students as present/absent/cancelled after each lesson.
● Following carefully designed processes around scheduling and communication
● Communicate with students over email (rescheduling lessons, weekly notes).
Terms:
● Part-time: 2-10 hours per week
● Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
● 1099 Contractor
