Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                          

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a skilled and reliable Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver to manage waste and recycling transportation across our retail locations. This position is responsible for collecting and hauling trash and recyclables from our nurseries to local dumps and recycling facilities. The ideal candidate has experience operating large dump trucks, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                          

• Safely operate a large dump trash truck to transport waste and recyclables between multiple Moon Valley Nurseries retail locations.
• Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of materials at designated disposal or recycling sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of pickups, drop-offs, and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Communicate effectively with nursery managers and operations teams to coordinate pickups.
• Uphold high safety and cleanliness standards in and around the truck and disposal areas.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                                   

• Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating large commercial dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and local disposal/recycling guidelines.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor environments.
• Other duties as assigned

Education                                                                                                                                                                                                 

High School Diploma or Equivalent

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                                   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
