Mid-Shift Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary:

Seeking a leader who is energetic, someone who promotes a positive atmosphere thru recognition & praise, someone capable of holding an associate accountable for their performance & able to coach them for success. Candidate must be able to make suggestions and challenge our current processes in an effort to continually improve the operation. Experience working with both union and non-union workforces preferred. Responsibilities include up to 20 Union employees on assigned shift with an average volume of 10,000 - 15,000 pieces onto company fleet for deliver next day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervising day crew.
• Involved in developing and maintaining operational business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours production costs, and KPIs.
• Monitors production and develops standards, cost controls, and obtains data regarding type's quantities, and specifications.
• Reviews operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
• Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
• Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Participates in the disciplinary process according to Company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Determines measures to be taken in such areas including but not limited to: receiving and put away error and inventory challenges.
• Oversees the receiving and put away operation including the periodic checking of skids and trucks to ensure accuracy of orders and materials.
• Receives merchandise from backhauls and vendors; follows through with employees to locate paperwork, checks and tallies materials and verifies counts on shipping documents.
• Ensures that all items received are tagged with the appropriate stickers, properly scanned into inventory and put way in appropriate locations.
• Works with the Company Safety Committee, attends meetings, investigates employee accidents, and assigns appropriate light duty per Worker's Compensation Doctor's orders when necessary.
• Communicates safety issues to the employees as well as the Committee and works to resolve them.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of day Warehouse operations.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

Ideal Candidate will have:

• Five years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
