Job Description:
CAD Drafter
An experienced CAD Drafter to join an established team offering creative, economical solutions for architects and designers. The materials typically used are fabric and films, steel, structural hardware, aluminum, and cables to build canopies and facades.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD 2D and 3D to create detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
- Create precise CAD drawings for tensile fabric structures, including patterns, frameworks, and connection details, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design and engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with Design and Manufacturing Teams: Collaborate with project architect, engineer, and production teams to refine designs, address technical challenges, and ensure the drawings align with material capabilities and project timelines.
- Work alongside the Project Manager and General Contractor to ensure open communication and transparency.
- Takeoffs and material counts.
- Read and review architectural and structural drawings to then incorporate our scope of work onto our own internal design drawings.
- Learn quickly and adapt to the organization's drafting methods.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Associate (2-year), Bachelor (4-year) or Trade Degree. A Drafting degree or similar is preferred.
- 3-5 years of drafting experience (minimum)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Learns quickly and is adaptable to our organization's drafting methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sketchup and REVIT experience
- A structural steel background would be helpful
- An engineering and/or design background would be nice-to-have
- Some understanding of conventional construction
