- How much sales will be involved in this role? None – potential upselling and bulk discounts, more client/vendor management.
- How many warehouses do they have throughout the country…I assume this person will be traveling to those locations monthly to do an inventory count? OR can you provide some insight into how much travel will be involved to the other locations? Does each warehouse have an inventory resource of some sort that this person will work with/manage? Minimal travel. We have 45 stores and those stores are divided among the team. There are currently 5 people on the team. One is moving into another role and that is why this role is open.
- Will they be involved in selecting vendors and/or are their established vendors SPEC works with and this person will be responsible for negotiating product prices with those vendors? How much autonomy will they have in bringing new vendors in? Just working with existing vendors. New vendor selection would be managed by the teams director and other leadership. Our products don’t change often and we don’t bring on new vendors very often. Roofing generally stays the same.
- Do they have an inventory management system they use? Yes, but moving to a new cloud-based system in the second quarter.
- What does the month-end reporting look like? The branch managers are responsible for month end reporting and this team will assist.
