JOB PURPOSE: The incumbent provides fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Sales associates / Showroom Manager have an emphasis on product knowledge, providing information on product features, and knowing related items to sell an entire project. Associates in this position know how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their store. Sales Associates / Showroom Manager’s maintain the condition of the show room and insure that it is clean, customer ready, and safe. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager On Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers or customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet / acknowledge all customers.
2. Ability to demonstrate furniture features i.e. show how a recliner functions
3. Process sales orders, complete financing paperwork
4. Maintain display models
5. Discuss available options (good, better, best)
6. Set and achieve personal sales goals
7. Read daily, weekly, monthly sales reports
8. Assist with inventory control
9. Coach others regarding customer service skills
10. Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
1. Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; ability to respond to inquiries of complaints from customers /employees, ability to effectively present information to top management, middle management or employees. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for English structure usage.
2. Computer skills: Ability to work with word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.
3. Problem solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations; use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
