What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Coordinator position at Moraine Valley Community College?
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator plans, implements and reports on the department’s integrated brand and marketing strategies to achieve the college’s goals and objectives for student recruitment and retention. The Marketing Coordinator is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that enhance the collegiate environment, promote access to college programs and services, and support student success and lifelong learning.
- Actively contributes to the planning, creation and execution of marketing and branding strategies for enrollment management and brand enhancement.
- Assists with digital marketing platforms, including social media, Google analytics, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), ensuring optimized performance across channels.
- Collaborates with departments across the college to create and manage website content (WordPress preferred), ensuring it aligns with institutional goals and provides an engaging user experience.
- Writes and edits marketing materials, including programmatic assets, feature stories, digital ads, and social media posts.
- Acts as a lead point of contact for various departments to develop tailored marketing solutions, ensuring campaigns meet internal and external goals.
- Oversee external vendors for paid ad campaigns, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and deliverables are met, while providing strategic insights to improve performance.
- Organizes and uses data to make informed decisions about campaign data, including return on investment, engagement, etc.
- Creates, edits, maintains and/or publishes content for webpages, e-communication, social media, video and other digital marketing efforts.
- Assures quality of the college’s digital presences by identifying and fixing issues.
- Ensures proper use of the college’s branding and style guidelines across digital platforms.
- Serves on institutional committees, task forces and assists with special events as requested.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Minimum five years of experience in marketing, advertising, business administration, or related experience required, preferably in an educational setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, advertising or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press (AP) editorial style.
- Experience working with project teams, including graphic designers, photographer, videographer and other writers preferred.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to produce appropriate materials under deadline pressure, meet deadlines and follows through on assignments.
- Excellent background in business administration, marketing, advertising, writing, and information gathering.
- Knowledge of digital platforms and effective marketing communications techniques and strategies.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding oral/written communications skills, including AP editorial style.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer proficient, with experience with Google Analytics, project management solutions, web content management systems (WordPress preferred), customer relationship management systems (Salesforce preferred) and social media platforms.
