The primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure the organization’s routers are accurate and up to date. The routing specialist will be responsible for optimizing workflow within our company by designing and managing efficient production routes, utilizing engineering principles and specialized software to minimize production time, cost, and material waste. This position will collaborate with our engineer and production teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. This position will report to our Controller.
Essential Functions Of The Job
Strong understanding of heavy manufacturing processes and production planning principles. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, operator’s manuals, and assembly instructions. Ability to analyze information and processes - identify problems, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions. Skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including standard office software (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with JDE is preferred. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization. Effective planning and project management skills. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities. Able to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through planning, execution, and evaluation of business processes. Essential Functions Of The Job
- Updating and maintaining accurate routing information within our ERP system.
- Analyze product designs and bills of materials to develop efficient production routing sequences.
- Create or modify production routes considering factors like machine capacity and labor availability.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce costs.
- Monitor production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the routing process.
- Track key performance indicators related to routings.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements.
- Updating and maintaining accurate routing information within our ERP system.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures related to production routing.
