Job Summary
The Community Crisis Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating crisis intervention services in accordance with DBHDS (Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services) regulations. This role ensures that individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis receive timely, effective, and person-centered crisis stabilization and intervention services. The Community Crisis Manager provides supervision, crisis response coordination, service planning, and collaboration with community partners, ensuring compliance with state regulations and best practices in crisis care.
Duties
- Assess and evaluate the needs of individuals in crisis to determine appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention plans tailored to individual circumstances.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on coping strategies and emotional support.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and adherence to medical records protocols.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information.
- Facilitate access to community resources and support services for clients and their families.
- Document all interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in accordance with organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in crisis management.
Skills
- Strong background in social work or related fields, particularly in patient care settings.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and their application in crisis situations.
- Familiarity with home community care practices and resources available for clients.
- Proficient in individual group counseling methodologies, especially in child family counseling contexts.
- Understanding of medical records management systems and compliance standards, including ICD-9 coding.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients, families, and professionals.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while demonstrating empathy and support for clients in distress.
