Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support services to clients experiencing a crisis jeopardizing their current placement.
- Initiate and facilitate de-escalation techniques and strategies to assist the client in maintaining self-control.
- Use good interpersonal communication skills to gain client cooperation and resolve conflicts.
- Interact with all clients in accordance with the individual service plan and the therapeutic process.
- Assess, evaluate and monitor the safety of the client and others at all times.
- Exercise appropriate intervention in accordance with the least restrictive alternative to protect client from harming self or others.
- Coordinate closely with other staff and community partners to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities and services being provided.
- Be available for 24 Hour Emergency Crisis Response to assigned participant
- Serve as clinical liaison to referral sources and parents regarding progress and needs; to include attendance of FAPT meetings and court hearings as necessary
- Develop and implement plans for discharge including mobilization of resources for ongoing maintenance, rehabilitation & recovery.
- Maintain high quality documentation of all case work, completed in a timely manner and consistent with outlined program policies and licensure requirements. ·
- Administer first aid to client in response to minor medical problems
- Notify Supervisor of any significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concern, etc.
- Provide support and linkage to community resources for participants
- Monitor mental health symptoms, compliance with medication regimen, health nutrition and physical condition of participants.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with other agencies involved in the care of participant
- Promote the program in a positive manner to elicit referrals and maintain census and growth of the program
- Ensure that every Incident Report is completed immediately after the incident and submitted to the direct supervisor or Director the same day
- Be available for 24 Hour Emergency Crisis Response to assigned participant
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Be available to provide services during the day, evening, weekends and holidays. Provide and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Have access to and ability to use a computer, printer, internet services, and other necessary items and equipment to produce electronic program documentation/paperwork.
- Maintain communication with Program Coordinator and other Unit employees through e-mail and cell phone usage on a daily basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience in clinical crisis counseling and case management.
Educations and Specifications
Be a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Adult (QMHP-A) and/or Qualified Mental Health Professional – Child (QMHP-C) or Be a licensed mental health professional.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.75 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
