Job Summary
Advanced Student Assistants will assist in lab settings during the Center for STEM eXcellence summer programs. Assistants will need advanced knowledge of STEM X education and will perform tasks that are unique, unusual, technical or that require an advanced skill set. Must reside on campus during program training and implementation. Program training is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may involve performing analytical tasks and/or developing comprehensive reports. The advanced student assistant will aid the STEM X Program Educator with daily classes and activities. This position may oversee program participants at times. This position will require a high level of contact with internal and external customers. A substantial level of teamwork is expected. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
- Must be a current MSU student
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must have or be able to successfully complete a significant amount training/certification
- Must have a high level of technology skills
- Must have a high level of knowledge of the operations and policies of the unit or department
- Must possess independent judgment, discretion and decision-making skills
- Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
- Must be able to handle stress as well as to react quickly in emergency situations
Additional Desirable Qualifications
STEM X major of study, program alum.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25 pounds
Working Conditions
Residential setting for 12-20 year old participants.
