Job Summary
Overnight Conference Assistants (OCA) play an integral role in the support of students, staff and guests staying in MSU housing facilities during the summer. During the hours of 12AM and 8AM, OCAs provide a high-level of customer service for guests and campus partners, including serving as a resource for building, campus, and local services, responding to guest questions and concerns, and serving as initial responder to emergency situations. In addition, OCAs provide overall support for the Office of Student Housing by completing necessary paperwork, assisting with department projects, and serving as a visible leader and representative of the department and university on campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be present and attentive for scheduled shifts between 12AM and 8AM
- Provide high quality customer service for university students, staff, and guests housed in university residence halls, including serving as a resource for building, campus, and local services
- Respond to guest questions and concerns in an appropriate manner, including, but not limited to, facilities concerns, guests locked-out of their room, and emergency situations
- Complete all administrative documentation in a timely manner, including, but not limited to, facilities work requests, room condition reports, and guest occupancy reports
- Enforce university and conference policies and procedures, and submit documentation as necessary for any conflicts related to these policies and procedures
- Attend initial and continuing training as designated by supervisor
- Attend regular meetings with supervisor and summer conference staff team
- Assist with Office of Student Housing projects, tasks, and assignments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Other Duties and Responsibilities
The OCA is directly supervised by an Area Coordinator and indirectly supervised by an Assistant Director.
Minimum Requirements
Enrolled in classes at MSU during the Summer semester or the following Fall semester.
