LEAD ACTOR AND ENTERTAINER (Seasonal)
REPORTS TO: Entertainment Manager
DEPT: Entertainment
Perform in a 30-minute scripted play and entertain guests throughout the park, memorizing and performing the entire role. Take on the role of lead actor in this daily performance and step into costume characters as needed for events and guest interaction. In addition to stage performances, the Lead Actor will escort costume characters and engage with guests around the park, helping create a fun, high-energy atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead daily performances as the primary actor in a scripted 30-minute show, memorizing and performing the role with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- If needed, play a variety of costumed characters in line with park themes and events, entertaining and interacting with guests of all ages both on stage and throughout the park to create memorable, engaging experiences.
- Escort costumed characters, guiding them to designated areas, while continuing to interact with guests and contribute to the entertainment experience.
- Provide high-energy performances, encouraging audience participation and enhancing the enjoyment of park visitors.
- Safely put on and remove costumes, with assistance if necessary.
- Perform physical movements in costume, including walking, posing for pictures, and engaging with guests in large costumes for extended periods of time.
- Report any costume-related issues and assist in maintaining and cleaning costumes, working closely with the Entertainment Supervisor or Manager to ensure they remain in excellent condition and performance-ready.
- Attend rehearsals, training sessions, and meetings to stay current on performance updates, character changes, and new park events.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- General Requirements:
- Strong ability to speak and interact confidently in front of a crowd.
- Comfortable working in tight spaces with limited vision while in costume.
- Ability to perform large, coordinated movements (walking, waving, marching, etc.).
- Comfort working with individuals of varying abilities in a supportive environment.
- Additional Information:
- Shifts will vary between day and evening hours.
- Must be available at least three days of the week.
- Ability to work during the holiday season is preferred.
- Seasonal, hourly position with flexible hours.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
