JOB TITLE: Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
Implements management methods for the professional operation of Morgan’s Wonderland, Morgan’s Inspiration Island – with a focus on safety, quality, and guest satisfaction. Manages all functions and processes related to the operations of the parks. In addition, the Operations Manager will oversee park staffing, utilization of volunteers, special projects, and operational staff training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Be knowledgeable about Morgan’s Wonderland, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure excellent customer service when providing assistance or answering questions of guests and visitors.
- Effectively manage oversight of in-park staff to assure scheduling of all elements of the park for daily operation.
- Oversight of park services functions/operations staff
- Manage the weekly scheduling of seasonal park staffing
- Work alongside volunteer coordinator or point of contact to ensure augmented staffing needs are being met.
- Manage the training of in-park staffing in regards to ride operation, guest service skills, park cleanliness criteria and general operations and overall guest and staff satisfaction.
- Work with Event Manager and Event Coordinator for the effective flow, set up/clean up and organization of park special events.
- Assist with guests’ out-of-the-ordinary requests as needed and deemed appropriate.
- Engaged in the hiring process for open positions and evaluation of seasonal staff members.
- Mentor, develop and provide on-the-job training to the staff of host-employees and volunteers.
- Ensure that all park entrance and exit safety plans and procedures are being always followed for the wellbeing of all park guests, and team members.
- Manage the ongoing development of the park’s general overall operations, staff education and training, and special project coordination.
- Will assume the responsibilities of Manager on Duty in the Assistant General Manager’s or other designated management’s absence.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

- Create and foster an atmosphere of friendliness and hospitality in the park office to ensure an enjoyable experience for staff, and guests.
- Cultivate staff morale by monitoring team dynamics and individual needs.
- Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains an understanding of current best practices.
- Take ownership and support the park administration in the effective implementation of the Park’s Emergency Response Plan.
- Attend and participate in employee training and meetings
- Any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of hands-on customer service in the hospitality, theme park, or business organization; plus at least five years of supervisory experience in a multi-task environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
- Theme Park, hospitality or equivalent industries preferred.
- Possess excellent administrative and hospitality skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and organize varied/multiple tasks
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including word, excel, teams, and outlook365.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan’s Wonderland as well as the implementation of these values in all daily work activities.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to work as part of a team; maintain a positive attitude even under stress.
- Willingness to work weekend days and have a flexible schedule that varies by the season of the year.

Environmental Demands –
- The work environment is an outdoor park environment with continuous outdoor activity and exposure to weather at times.
- Must remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
- Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate park staff attire always.
