About the Work
You will be a part of a small but mighty accounting department at Morley. You will work behind the scenes providing accounting, bookkeeping and clerical assistance. Daily work may include data entry, maintaining account ledgers, filing, and performing database queries. Through your daily work, you will become an expert in the company’s enterprise resource planning software.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) to maintain account ledgers.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and security of the company financial data.
- Accounts Receivable
- Process monthly invoices and statements.
- Process client payments.
- Make collection calls, if necessary.
- Assist with resolving customer invoicing disputes and discrepancies.
- Payroll Processing
- Review timesheets for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Process withholding and reimbursement adjustments.
- Process direct deposits and distribute earnings summaries.
- Process Federal, State, and Local tax withholding payments.
- Process and reconcile credit card expenses.
- Assist with accounts payable processing.
- Assist with employee benefits enrollment.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations.
- Answer phone calls and handle routing correspondence with clients.
- Provide clerical support to team members including creating reports, filing, scanning, and data entry as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Associate degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel.
- Working knowledge of both Accrual and Cash basis accounting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relational: Strong people skills and understanding of customer service. Maintains a professional, courteous, and respectful relationship with team members and clients.
- Work Ethic: Produces significant output with minimal wasted effort. Works well both independently and in a team environment.
- Accurate: Completes data entry, data analysis, and reports in a thorough manner and ensures accuracy and consistency.
- Flexible: Ability to accept a wide variety of work and do what is necessary, even if it is not part of the job description.
