Gift Shop Manager - LMC

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gift Shop Manager for Lake Michigan Carferry. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits. Starting pay $17.00/hour. Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential and Merchant Mariner Credential. Lake Michigan Carferry assists in obtaining this document.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for general operations of the store by serving customers, providing merchandise, and managing gift shop associates.

The Gift Shop Manager is responsible for promoting operations by scheduling and directing employees, maintaining store staff by recruiting, orienting, and training employees and disciplining employees by coaching, counseling, monitoring, motivating and appraising job results.

The Gift Shop Manager plays a key role in our customers' experience every day and must provide professional, friendly, and courteous guest and vendor interactions. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests and vendors.

Direct Supervisor: General Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain store staff by recruiting, training, disciplining (when applicable) and scheduling gift shop associates.
• Achieve financial objectives by planning and maintaining a gift shop budget.
• Maximize store sales and profitability and ensure accurate daily sales.
• Select, market, promote, formulate pricing policies, and display plans for merchandise.
• Ensure availability of merchandise and maintain inventories.
• Must be able to ride boat on short notice if scheduled associate calls in for shift with no replacement available.
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Previous Management/Leadership Experience Preferred
