What are the responsibilities and job description for the Air Export Coordinator position at Morning Global?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proven experience and familiarity in overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, including parcel scanning, dispatching, and coordinating export bookings with airlines, freight forwarders, co-loaders and transportation companies.
- Proven experience with US export regulations and procedures, such as preparing shipping documentation (e.g. pre-alerts) and handling export clearance, is essential.
- Good relationship with co-loaders, freight forwarders and airlines for Airfreight procurement and familiarity with export shipping documentation compliance.
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating with cost-effective trucking vendors is crucial to help minimize transportation costs while ensuring timely deliveries.
- Prepare reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers using the company’s proprietary system and Microsoft Office.
- Closely examine documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to verify the conversion of merchandise weights or volumes into systems used by other countries e.g. lbs to kgs.
- Track and ensure Client delivery SLAs are reached and communicate with relevant departments and vendors to mitigate delays and problem-solve issues.
- Track and communicate shipment status, delays or documentation issues to our vendors, clients and Headquarters as needed.
- The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to optimize B2C sorting processes, ensuring efficiency and smooth operations or work closely with warehouse personnel to facilitate. This includes both clerical tasks, such as reporting and documentation, and occasionally, physical tasks such as parcel handling.
- Proven experience and familiarity with warehouse systems, parcel tracking software, and basic troubleshooting of technical issues related to equipment is required. The role may involve managing and resolving system-related issues as they arise.
- Flexibility is key, as the role may occasionally involve working evening shifts and handling unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate must be proactive in addressing issues and finding solutions quickly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of Air Export operations experience is preferred
- Strong existing network of freight forwarders, co-loaders and transportation companies for procurement
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend effectively, and communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Attention to detail
- Proactive in addressing issues and strong organization skills
- Good Microsoft Office and computer skills
- Resourceful and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in freight forwarding highly preferred
- Fluent English is required
Experience:
- Air Export operations: 3 years (Preferred)
- Warehouse operations: 2 years (Preferred)
- TSA administrator experience a plus
