Accounting Assistant
Morningside University is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Assistant. This position will assist the Business Office in performing administrative duties, a variety of bookkeeping functions and other clerical services as well as assist with the administration of the phone system.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Accounts Payable with processing invoices and serve as the back-up resource
- Audit, scan, and file Purchasing Card statements
- Generate all P-card transactions and pay P-card balances
- Verify cash drawer and open office window
- Provide backup coverage and assistance at counter window
- Enter purchase orders
- Receive incoming phone calls not connected by the auto attendant
- Voucher and enter invoices
- Responsible for ordering, tracking and maintaining of supplies for the department
- Generate reports monthly
- Billing departments and processing payments
- Assist Accounts Receivable when needed
- Assist the Assistant Controller with bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations and other bookkeeping duties
Qualifications:
- Good computer and organizational skills
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- Customer service oriented
- High School Degree
