Job Description
The basic functions of the Career Consultant are to provide professional coaching, training, and support people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Mental Health Diagnosis and/or Substance use disorders to identify career paths, support them to meet the expectations of their employer, and complete regular documentation of services provided.
What you’ll do:
- You will provide professional support to clients at their worksite to ensure each client learns and can perform necessary tasks at an acceptable level as required by the employer.
- You will support clients in helping to identify vocational goals on an individual employment plan and modify plans as necessary.
- You will support the clients to maintain employment and assist them in career change and advancement.
- You will work to develop assessment sites and attend DVR and other meetings in the community.
- You will complete weekly documentation of progress and barriers to meeting the clients’ vocational goals and services provided.
You’ll also need to be able to...
- After being trained, identify, and implement supports and accommodations to assist the client to meet or exceed their vocational goals.
- Be able to determine the scope, content, and parameters of the training and coaching needed to meet or exceed the goals and parameters of the client’s Individual Employment Plan.
- Be flexible! Be able to support your clients during their working hours.
- This position is highly visible in the community, requiring interaction with a variety of employers, funding sources, and businesses in a wide range of environments, including marketing, education, and working with clients throughout their employment.

Compensation: Starting pay for this position is $20.51.
Merit increases are available regularly when meeting and exceeding outcomes.
