What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at MorningStar Senior Living?
Processing Payroll
Complete full-cycle payroll processing for communities.
Payroll support contact for communities as assigned.
Work with all communities to manage deadlines and documentation for all aspects of the payroll process
Process off cycle and manual checks
Liaison with department heads to ensure time sheet accuracy and completion ongoing throughout the payroll cycle.
Miscellaneous
Knowledgeable of payroll compliance laws federally / state-wide / locally to ensure MorningStar practices are meeting regulations.
Assist with audits as assigned to ensure states with heavy wage and hour compliance regulations (i.e. CA, CO, WA, OR) are meeting or exceeding these expectations.
Maintain reports as assigned to create 'value-add' to identify labor management metrics (i.e. overtime).
Oversee all garnishments
Monitor all stale-dated checks
Assist with federal / state / local reporting requirements (e.g. BLS, DOL, EEO1)
Duties and projects as assigned by Director of HRIS & Payroll, Payroll Manager and CHRO

3 years of multi-state, payroll leadership required with experience in all items listed above.
Thorough knowledge of multi-state payroll processing laws, best practices and state administrative procedures.
Experience with national payroll vendor (i.e. ADP, PayCom, UKG, etc).
Adept at using Microsoft Excel and other software for administrative efficiencies.
Education - Continuing education beyond high school diploma highly preferred.
PayOrg certification highly preferred.

The pay range for this position will vary upon experience and skills of the selected candidate but is expected to be in the following range : $68,000 - 74,000
