SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, implementing safety programs, and overseeing site safety operations. This role requires strong leadership in safety training, hazard assessments, and compliance monitoring while fostering a culture of safety across all job sites. Proficiency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication across a diverse workforce, ensuring safety protocols are clearly understood and implemented.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Workplace Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and unsafe practices in the workplace.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and implement effective hazard control measures.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety programs and hazard control procedures.
- Stop any operations if health, safety, or environmental risks are deemed unacceptable.
Safety Program Implementation and Compliance
Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and programs.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.Administer emergency response procedures for job sites and ensure preparedness.Track and maintain safety equipment, ensuring proper availability and functionality.Training and Employee Engagement
Facilitate and document all company-mandated and site-specific safety training.Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programs for employees.Coach and guide employees and management on safety compliance and best practices.Bridge communication between English-speaking management and Spanish-speaking employees to ensure full understanding and compliance with safety regulations and procedures.Incident Investigation and Reporting
Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses involving company property, employees, or temporary workers.Prepare detailed reports and maintain documentation to ensure thorough investigations and evidence preservation.Recommend and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents.Administrative and Documentation Responsibilities
Compile and maintain management reports and OSHA recordkeeping requirements.Prepare safety-related memos, letters, and field reports as needed.Ensure proper documentation and tracking of safety compliance efforts.Site Safety Oversight
Assist and support workers on-site with all aspects of safety.Conduct routine inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols.Ensure proper display and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Ability to climb scaffolds and enter confined spaces as required on job sites.Requirements :
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
OSHA 30, OSHA 500, and OSHA 510 certifications.4–5 years of proven experience working as an EHS or Safety Leader.Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.5–7 years of experience in a safety role within the construction or semiconductor industry.Certified First Aid / CPR Trainer.
