Overview:
Under the direction of the Head of Package Development, the Senior Package Development Engineer is responsible for package development, adjustments, updates and revisions.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Read, analyze, evaluate and approve all technical drawings on behalf of Moroccanoil.
- Develop all packages and manage the package testing team in the different phases of development, in line with industry’s best practices and standards of quality.
- Partner with Design and Marketing to develop custom packages, from design concept to industrial design, through to technical industrial development.
- Partner with Product Development Formula manager to develop all packages in conjunction with formula, managing the key steps where the two marry.
- Regular meetings with Marketing to go over marketing calendars and launch dates, keeping them abreast of development and timing.
- Manage vendors and partners to make sure approvals and testing are tracked to appropriate deadlines.
- Manage dual path developments of packages with different vendors when necessary.
- Technical industrial development: managing industrial steps of package from tooling through to cavity matrices and tool qualification, sample scale up and industrial feasibility line trials. Preliminary BOMs, primary and secondary specification release, and management and sign off of standards.
- Manage timelines, liaise with all teams and Operations to track package development and specifications dates to production and in-warehouse dates.
- Understand CAD drawings and component technical drawings (2D and 3D/SolidWorks).
- Risk management and evaluation of risk level from a technical standpoint.
- Special projects.
Skills & Abilities:
- BS in Packaging Engineering degree or similar.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in the beauty industry or personal care products.
- CAD, SolidWorks, MS office.
- Solid understanding of timelines and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to execute BOMs, package specifications, package testing, and approval of technical drawings.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Takes initiative.
- Tenacity with development processes and timing.
- Works well under pressure.
- Organized.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to managing change in business needs and priorities.
- Able to work in a team or individually.

Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
