Job Summary

Is responsible for working closely with Executive Housekeeper and assists in supervising guestrooms, working areas, hotel premises, coordinates daily housekeeping operations and maintains housekeeping operating standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation of GRA cleaning for the hotel rooms’ area.
  • Communicate to the Executive Housekeeper information and statistics pertinent to planning and execution of maximizing revenue while increasing guest perception.
  • Inspect and ensure all rooms and hallways are in compliance and meet our 4-Star/4-Diamond requirements
  • In absence of the Executive Housekeeper, inspect all VIP rooms and report their availability to the front desk according to hotel standards.
  • Oversee the organized closing floors at the end of the day, ensuring the room attendant’s carts are clean and restocked.
  • Utilizes proper/approved cleaning materials and solutions.
  • Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to standards
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requires strong leadership and motivational skills.  Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public. 
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications

Computer skills, good verbal and writing skills. In-depth knowledge of Hotel Housekeeping operations.  Skilled in LMS, scheduling, hotel room quality control. Team leader and innovator. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in hotel housekeeping operations, preferably at a luxury resort. Casino experience preferred but not required. Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.    

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Tribal Gaming Commission.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write & speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively with guests or team members of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to independently problem-solve challenging situations. Must have the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and have the judgment to decide which procedures apply to a variety of situations. Must reason with people effectively yet cordially.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit and often will stand or walk. The team member frequently is required to reach with arms and use hands to manipulate or feel. The team member might occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. This position requires the ability to hear and speak on the telephone and vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this position are typically performed in a casino hotel resort environment with moderate noise, and adequate lighting.

 

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
