Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles and the ability to teach students of all ages, from early childhood to adults. This role requires creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to fostering a love for dance in students. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans, conducting classes, and providing constructive feedback to students.
Duties
- Design and implement engaging dance lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
- Teach various dance styles, including hip-hop, while ensuring proper technique and safety practices are followed.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Organize and participate in dance recitals or performances to showcase student achievements.
- Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary programs that may include elements of theater or culinary arts.
- Maintain a clean and safe studio environment for all participants.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and adult education methodologies.
- Experience in ballet or other dance forms is essential; additional skills in theater or photography are a plus.
- Understanding of childhood development stages to effectively engage with younger students.
- Ability to sew costumes or assist with costume design for performances is beneficial.
- Culinary skills may be advantageous for organizing themed dance events or workshops.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions and feedback to students of all ages.
- Strong organizational skills for managing class schedules, student records, and event planning.
